Combined Hyperactive-Inattentive Type

A child with this type of AD/HD will be excessively active, impulsive and inattentive. Because of the hyperactivity, this child will probably be diagnosed at an early age, which is good. However, the nature of this type of AD/HD is such that the child will experience a plethora of symptoms that interfere with learning and social interaction with peers.

Even if the hyperactive symptoms decrease with age, it is most likely that the inattentiveness and impulsivity will increase unless the child has had the benefit of a multimodal treatment plan.
