Primarily Hyperactive Type

Children who present with the primarily hyperactive type of AD/HD are usually identified at a very early age because this is the most recognizable AD/HD symptom. The parents of a hyperactive pre-school child are more likely to seek medical help because they see that their child is in great danger because of his hyperactive behaviour.

Diagnosis is much easier for this type of AD/HD because the symptoms are so obvious. Often a child such as this has already been diagnosed and treated before reaching primary school, which usually improves the condition significantly.
